Our only Goal !!

‘One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” – Psalms 27:4

The football world cup 2018 season is going on. Each people who are spectators want their country to win the match and move on forward to final match.  In final also they don’t want draw but a complete victory to lift the Cup.  That is ambition of each team.

Similarly , who are we?
What is our goal?

Many years we are attending church nominally . We  are praying  for ou needs and that’s all, no vision of eternity and preparation of our life for eternity.

But when we consider what is our “Goal”
answer is ”nothing”.

When receive worldly blessings, we think we have reached our goal.  But that’s wrong.

Psalmist King Davids only desire was to dwell in the house of Lord all his days of life.

He being a king desired to dwell in the house of Lord rather than Palace with luxuries ! Because he truly loved God.

We who  are in new testament period,  we our selves that is our is dwelling place of God, that is the  temple of God.

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own.”-  I Corinth 6:19.

We need to be holy, preserve our holiness because our body is the temple of God. To live an overcoming holy life we need to go to church regularly. But  most of times we go late by 5 or 10 minutes.  Even though we attend we always looking at watch when will the message get over and we go home.

In this present world if we don’t like the presence of God in church , then how can we spend thousands of thousands years with Jesus in heaven for eternity  ??? !!!

In heaven we will have only Jesus  and bands of angels praising Him continuously. If we don’t learn to love Jesus here on earth, then how will we love him and spend time through out eternity???

Our Jesus Christ have already won the match for us and showed his love for towards us (John3:16). We are are on the victory side.  we are in the last days of his coming ,Our one and only GOAL is to be like  Him (Jesus Christ ). We must change our  character to like Jesus only then we will be caught up in His coming.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”-1 John 3:2

I AM the Rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys.

“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. “- Song of Solomon 2:1

The Rose in the above verses is compared to our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is fairest of ten thousand . our Lord Jesus is beautiful God. I have heard many testimony about people who have seen Jesus Christ in their vision and dream. All they say is that Jesus Christ is very beautiful. Hence in the song of Solomon we read that Jesus is compared to rose and lily.

Rose is a very beautiful flower to look, but it grows in a plant, which has thorns. Similarly lily has a very good  fragrance, but it also grows in a plant which has thorns.

Jesus Christ wants us to be like Him. His character, behaviour, life is an example that  We must follow to be like Him. People who look at us must see Jesus Christ’s character in our life. We may get dressed up outwardly very handsome and beautiful that may even attract men and women, but our God’s expectation is in our inner man’s beauty. People around us even may praise us for our work, but do we really please God in our deeds??

When we really try to be like Jesus Christ, there will be trials, temptations, sufferings, failures, all these can be compared to the thorns in our life. A rose or lily is always surrounded by thorns, but still it looks beautiful and gives good fragrance . likewise we must overcome our trials and glorify God. Our God allows trials in our life to mould us to character, to make us like him.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. – 1 John 3:2
