Be a good soldier !

Blessed be the LORD my strength, which

(2 Timothy 2:1 to 10)

“1   Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2   And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3   Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4   No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5   And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6   The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

7   Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8   Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

9   Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10   Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. “

Moral: God has called and chosen us for His eternal purpose to be fulfilled in our life. In this spiritual journey, we must pray and fight in prayers to obtain the eternal life. We must not always seek others for prayer help. God wants to teach us so that we alone need to fight in prayer to grow in spiritual life. we know the victory is ours, because our Jesus Christ Have already defeated the Satan on cross. God also expects that we must pray for the salvation of unsaved persons, let god give us grace to pray.

“Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:” (Ps 144:1)

Vanity! vanity !!

Ecc 1:14 “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.”

Ecc 2:11 “Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

Ecc 2:17 “Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.”

All the above verses we said by king solomon. He was the wisest man on this earth. He was richest man, he enjoyed all the pleasure’s of life, he has hundreds of wife, thousands of concubines, he built beautiful palace and there was no enemy to fight with him. Yet he hates life and says everything under the sun is vanity. One thing perhaps he missed or forgot is his creater God. He built beautiful Temple for Lord  in his earlier days, afterwards he went away from Lord, hence nothing could give him happiness. Only God can give true happiness.
Our education, job, family, husband, wife, children, friends ,wealth, riches, luxury cannot give us happiness. All  the above things are necessary but still it cannot give true happiness. Hence Psalmist says:

Psa 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

King David fought many battles, his life was very hard compared to Solomon. But he always sought Lord in everything he did. His soul was longing for Lord. His  desire was to do the will of Lord. Hence he was a happy man. Let us seek Lord and taste the true happiness by doing His will.

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”- Psa 84:10

In the above verses Psalmist says that one day in the house of is much better than thousand days in his palace. He likes to be a door keeper (watch man) in the house of Lord than in luxury places accompanied by wicked people.

Let us pray to God to live a humble life. It is Great Blessedness to live a simple life in house of God than to live a Royal life in Mansions.

Matchless Love of God

Rom 5:8 – God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound .That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Conclusion: By disobedience of one man Adam, mankind lost its perfection. But because of Jesus Christ mankind regained its perfection and led the way to eternal life.
