God calling your name twice

“But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. “-Luke 10:40-42

Here in above incident, we see one common thing in Martha and Mary, they both were serving Lord Jesus. Martha was busy preparing food for Jesus, but Mary was at the feet of Jesus.
Jesus was pleased with Mary, because what she chose was correct. She was at the feet of God, who had created heaven and earth. But Martha didn’t have that revelation. Martha even accused Jesus for not sending, Mary to kitchen, to help her.

Hence Jesus quoted above verse, Calling Martha Martha..

Even we may be busy whole day in our own business and work. We  think we are regular church goers, praying person, and we will be caught up in his coming.

Being at the feet of Jesus Christ in one sense can be compared to meditating the word of God all time, where ever we may be. But very often we forget to meditate the word of God.

Let God give us grace to meditate in His word.

“Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” – Psa 119:140

Be a good soldier !

Blessed be the LORD my strength, which

(2 Timothy 2:1 to 10)

“1   Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2   And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3   Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4   No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5   And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6   The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

7   Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8   Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

9   Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10   Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. “

Moral: God has called and chosen us for His eternal purpose to be fulfilled in our life. In this spiritual journey, we must pray and fight in prayers to obtain the eternal life. We must not always seek others for prayer help. God wants to teach us so that we alone need to fight in prayer to grow in spiritual life. we know the victory is ours, because our Jesus Christ Have already defeated the Satan on cross. God also expects that we must pray for the salvation of unsaved persons, let god give us grace to pray.

“Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:” (Ps 144:1)

Great Faith of 38 years

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of invalid folk — blind, halt, withered — waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water. Whosoever then first stepped in, after the troubling of the water, was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there who had an infirmity for thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been in that state a long time, He said unto him, “Wilt thou be made whole?”

7 The infirm man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool; but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.”

8 Jesus said unto him, “ Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked. – John 5:1-9

Moral: The man who was disabled for 38 years was healed by the words of Jesus Christ. That man was a most blessed man, because God Himself came and healed. Compared to others, they were healed by the troubled water of angel.
There is a great faith, we can learn from this man, he patiently waited for 38 years to receive healing. Our situation may be like that man, many years we would have prayed for certain things, but God would have delayed the answer. But soon Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself will come and deliver us from all our problems. Psa 91:15.
Let us not give up our hope, Let God give us Grace to continue in our prayer life.

Power in the “shadow”

“insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks and those who were vexed with unclean spirits; and they were healed, every one.” Acts 5:15-16

As Jesus promised “he who believes in me will do Greater things than me” was fulfilled in  Peter’s life. The very shadow of peter healed many sick people. Interesting thing is, Apostle Peter’s shadow could heal sick. We may be a unworthy vessel to proclaim God’s word, but God will make us a Worthy vessel , Bless us and use us a blessing to others. Let God give us grace to make us honourable vessel.
