Luke-19:1-10 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5.And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.”
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

We all know the story of Zacchaeus, how he sought Jesus. But why he was diligent in seeing Jesus?

Since zacchaeus was tax collector, He had become rich, not because of his hard work but by collecting extra money and cheating people.

All his wealth and money didn’t give him joy. Hence he was waiting to see Jesus.

Perhaps we may not be like zaccheaus but we may be busy in our work making extra money rather seeking God.

1Timothy  6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

How much ever we earn and save we can’t take even single coin with us when we leave this world.

When Zacchaeus realized that money and wealth cannot give him happiness, he sought Jesus.

But Jesus Christ indeed came towards him and told he will stay in his house. What a privileged man was  Zacchaeus that Lord Jesus abided in his house!!

We even though sinners,   Jesus Christ came in search of us. When Jesus comes into our life, our sins are forgiven,  we get joy and happiness that this world cannot give. Let us accept Jesus Christ as personal saviour .

Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

The most Blessed man on earth !

image

Matthew 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

Mark 15:21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Luk 23:26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

Simon  of Cyrene was going  out,  we really don’t know where he was going. He might would have come out to see Jesus. But the soldiers compelled him to carry  the cross . We really don’t know how far he carried the cross of Jesus Christ. But the truth is he was the most blessed person on earth in my opinion. Because  the sin of whole world was upon on the cross, which Jesus Christ was carrying.

Simon was compelled to carry this cross. There were 12 disciples but they all ran away.

Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The curse, iniquities, transgression, sickness, bondage, all together  our sin was upon Jesus Christ , He was carrying these as cross on his shoulder.
Which Simon of Cyrene carried to little distance. He carried only little distance because after that the verse we read soon Jesus Christ was crucified.

Today Jesus Christ is asking everyone one of us will you carry My cross.??

Everybody of us have trials, tribulation, sickness, difficulties which we need to carry daily and overcome it. Only then we can inherit the throne and reign with Jesus. Without cross there is no throne. Jesus Christ successfully overcame in this test and is on the right hand side of Lord the God. Likewise we need to overcome in our trial to be seated at right side of Jesus Christ.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Blessings by God’s chastening!

” Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;” Psalms 94:12

Don’t get weary when God punishes you for small things. That is not called  punishment instead it is called as  chastening.

Why  God chasten You?
Ans: God Loves you so much that he doesn’t want you live in a sinful life or disorder life.

God’s expectation is you must live a righteous life. When we go in a way that displeases God,  He chastise us in order to correct us.

What is law?
Ans: After Jesus came we are not under old testament law but new testament law.

According to Galatians 5:14 “For all the law is fulfilled in one word ; Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself “ .  Therefore love replaces the law. We must overcome evil by good.  When some one does bad to us, we must forgive them and love them. It is difficult to love our enemies but God gives us grace to do that. We need to sincerely pray for people who fights with us, persecutes us, accuses us falsely . When we respond to them as worldly people do,  then God does not sit and watch simply . He corrects us, chastise us. He does it to escape us from eternal judgment. He does it so that our heart might change to be like His Heart!

“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” -Hebrew 12:6

Greatest prayer !!

” And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.- Exodus32:30-32

The above highlighted words were said by Moses to Lord the God. When Moses went upon mount Sinai to get ten commandments, the people of Israel sinned by making and worshiping golden calf. Hence Lord the God was angry and was about to punish these people. But Moses interceded for the people of Israel and asked God not to punish them, instead let the punishment be upon himself. Moses was ready to give up his eternal life  for the sake of people of Israel. He asked God to blot out His name from the book (Book of life).

Even our disobedience and sins are more  than the Israelites, but our High Priest Lord Jesus Christ  is always interceding with Lord the God our heavenly father . hence we are not punished. Our punishment was upon Jesus Christ, who died on cross once for all, for every man’s sin.

As Jesus Christ intercede for us, we must also intercede in praying for unsaved people.

Let us pray to God, let there be a true repentance within us, So that our names  should not be blotted out of  book of life.

Great faith !

“when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? ” -Luke 18:8

Jesus Christ said above verses when He was telling the parable of unjust judge and widow. That unjust judge heard and avenged to the widow, similarly God will answer all our prayers, He may delay but but will surely answer our request.

One thing we learn here is, when the Lord is near, God expects we must have faith in Him. Because since we are in a world of full of sin , in this sinful world to live a Holy life, Righteous life, forgiving and loving our adversaries is difficult, even though we try to make it with our own ability is only a small thing in the sight of God. Hence God expects aleast we must grow in faith life day to day, we may be Holy for a day but next day we may commit sin, but in  aspect of   faith we must grow from faith to faith.  Our holiness is nothing compared to God’s Holiness, our righteousness is nothing compared to God’s righteousness. Hence only by faith we believe , we will be caught up in His coming.  Let us pray to God and receive His Grace to be seen with.

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. – Jude 1:20-21

God is with you

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. [Is] not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.  (Joshua 10:12-14)

Our God is a wonderful God, He have done many miracles. One of it is mentioned above. He stops Suns and Moon for the sake of His chosen people.

Even we may have lost many years wasting our times in vain things, but when we come to God and seek His forgiveness, He will forgive us. Is He able to restore our wasted time??? Hope so. But He will make us to utilize our remaining time in a best way, so that what ever time we have lost will be restored. He will restore all our blessings,  There is nothing impossible from God.

Forgiving Kiss !

image

“And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.”- Mat 26:49
Kiss is a sign of Love. Love may be towards father, son, mother, daughter, friends, lover anyone. Some people kiss their pets to show their love. Kiss is a expression of true love.

In Bible we read at many occasions where the word kiss is seen. Isaac kissed Jacob and blessed him. Esau kissed Jacob and forgave him.  Joseph too kissed his brothers to show his love of forgiveness.  David kissed Jonathan shows true friendship . In Song of solomon the kiss shows the love between bride(Church) and bride groom(Jesus Christ).  But the greatest kiss we see is Judas Iscariot kiss Jesus Christ to betray Him. This is the worst thing a man can do to anyone. Kiss a sign of love is changed to sign of betrayal.  Hence in  Luk 22:48 we read  –But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?.
Why did Jesus asked Judas this question?
Ans: Judas could have betrayed Jesus by showing his finger towards him or by telling them the color of clothing Jesus was wearing, or by shaking hand and speaking to Jesus. But Judas plan was to use kiss as sign of betrayal. But by the same kiss Jesus Christ forgave him.

This kiss can be compared to our love for the worldly things. Our kiss must not be like Judas but that of Jesus,  who forgive all our sins , cleanse our sins, leads way to eternal life. Let us not kiss this world , But kiss the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ to be be with him eternally.
