Best thing from and to God

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.” (1sam 1:11)
Praise the Lord for His Grace, In 1sam 1:11 we read about the prayer of Hannah. The prayer can be divided into four parts. 1. Affliction of Hannah 2.Hannah asking God for a ‘Man child’ 3.Hannah giving the child to God 4.The Consecration of the ‘Man Child’
1. Affliction of Hannah, During Yearly visit to Shiloh, Elkanah would offer sacrifice to Lord. Every time Hannah was provoked by sore by Peninah the 2nd wife (adversary of Hannah) of elkanah. Elkanahs’ comfort didn’t satisfy Hannah, even though Hannah would have worldly blessings but she was not satisfied with those things. She wanted for a child , since she was barren she was always provoked sore by her adversary. The reason for her barrenness was not because of her mistake, nor mistake of her husband Elkanah , 1 sam 1:5,6 clearly states that, the Lord god had shut her womb. Even though she was barren she didn’t question God, she didn’t curse God, nor did she send away her adversary, as Sarah did. But she was patiently waiting for the intervention of God in her life. Like Hannah we may be in a situation desperately in need of some thing, but god is not answering our prayer, no change in our life is seen. We must be like Hannah, we must not question god, neither curse god, nor deny god, but need to be patient in prayer..
2. Hannah asking God for a ‘Man child’, Hannah during her early visit to Shiloh in previous years, she would have prayed to god for a child, but her prayer was not answered. This time , her prayer was not a prayer but a Vow, or covenant with God. She dint ask for a “child” but a ‘Man Child’. She was very particular about what she wants. She wanted a best from god, i.e. male child. Likewise our prayer may be for small house, simple job, just to pass in exam or childless couple asking for a child. Our god expect us to ask him the same need in a different way, He wants us to ask Him The Best .As Our God is able to give the Best, He expects us to ask Him the Best. since our prayer is delayed, we must not lose our faith but , we must keep on praying, and ask God for a The Best thing.
3.Hannah giving the child to God , Hannah had a Great Faith, even before her prayer was answered, she promised to God that she will give the child to serve God. Reason she asked for a man Child is, Only a Male can be priest to do the service of God. She wants to give the Best and first fruit of womb to God. Imagine ,If God had stopped her with one male child, she would have left with no child for herself. She would had been aware this also, but that didn’t prevent her to give the man child to god. Although one  male child, she wanted that to give to God. one of the reason is also she want o close the mouth of her adversary. Our God is gracious, Hannah gave one male child to god, But God gave her three sons, two daughters. When we give the best , first fruit to God, God will bless us abundantly not only spiritually but worldly also. whatever we ask God we need to dedicate and give back to God. We may be not able to do fulltime ministry, but we must try to spare time do part time ministry. We may be concerned to build our house, seeking luxuries, are we concerned about the church of God?. we may have desire to buy car, two wheeler etc. for our comfort abilities, are we concerned about how to develop the ministry? Even though God may be blessing us , But He will be watching us, How much time we spend in his Ministry, what all we given to him.1sam 2:20 says that Hannah giving her Son in the service of God was like a loan given to god. Whatever work or ministry we do to God, is like giving loan to God. God Will surely repay us, not only in this present world but also in the eternity. Let us cheerfully give to god. God loves a cheerful giver.
4.The Consecration of the ‘Man Child’, Hannah made a consecration that she will not cut hair of the child, also she left into the service of God. both of this shows the consecration. she took the child to Shiloh and lent him to the LORD at the time of ‘weaning’. Weaning means  the time when the baby is able to eat semisolid food, this will be more than the age of 6 months. The exact age of Samuel at which he was left in the Shiloh is not mentioned. But at the age of weaning shows that he was around 6 to 8months age. It would have been very much difficult for Hannah to lend such a young baby to God, but she was faithful in her covenant and fulfilled it. Imagine a child of around 1 year old, the child may be blabbering one or two words, walking unsteadily,, just now started to wean. For a mother to get separated from such a child is un imaginable, But by Grace of God Hannah gave the child to the House of LORD.. Nowhere in the bible we read such a consecration.. Hence when Samuel grew up, he did three kind of ministry, he was a prophet, he was a priest and he was also a ruler all over Israel. None in the bible did all the three ministries. We may be believer or a servant of God, our ministry depends on our consecration. God will be able to use us mightily when we lead a consecrated life. luke 1:26 speaks about consecration of servant of god and matt 10:37 speaks about consecration of believer. let us pray to god to give us grace to lead a consecrated life that pleases God.
