” And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.” –Matthew 27:35
There are only few days before Good Friday. We learn lot of things from Calvary. But one thing which came to my mind this year is about the “clothing”.
Some people doesn’t give much important , while buying clothes, they spend moderate amount and buy simple apparels. But there are few people who spend much money, more time and often buy costly clothes every weekends.
In Genesis 1:7 we read when Adam and eve ate forbidden fruit, both eyes were opened, and they came to know they were naked.
But in Genesis 2:25 says – And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
The only reason they were not ashamed was they were clothing with Glory.
” For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.”- Psalms 8:5
When Adam sinned he lost the Garment of Glory. He became naked.
Our Jesus Christs garments was taken away, he was crucified on cross. The Lord of Lords, The king of Kings was made stripped because of our sins, he became naked and covered our body.
The Garment of Glory which Adam lost restored by Jesus Christ .
In a simple sense to say He became naked to cover our nakedness.
But many a times we forget that sacrifice and buy costly things which is not essential. God would have blessed us abundantly, but let’s keep our life with simple things which pleases our Lord Jesus Christ .
